Vladimir Quintero

Vladimir Quintero, born in Caracas, Venezuela has a great sensitivity and ability in many areas related to latin percussion, being an artist who has forged a wideprofessional career which has at least 60 recordings with Artists of great world prestige.

Vladimir began his formal musical training in 1990, under the guidance of professors such as Farides Mijares, Alexander Livinalli, Jesús "Totoño" Blanco and Alberto Borregales. He has also had the opportunity to receive Private lessons from international teachers such as Orlando Poleo and José Luis Quintana "Changuito" (Los Van Van).

Vladimir Quintero has been part of Venezuela Guaco'ssuper band for 14 years as a conguero and multi percussionist, during which he has recorded 7 albums, a DVD and has performed numerous tours nationally and internationally.

He has had the opportunity to share with an extensive listof artists in the most varied musical styles, ranging fromsalsa to jazz, to Afro-Venezuelan and Afro-Cuban musicand including great experimentations combining pop, rock and even electronic music.

One of the most praised occupations of Vladimir has been to expand his musical legacy by teaching his knowledge to other musicians doing clinics, workshops and private lessons. He played whit greatest artist

Vladimir has also participated in international music recordings that have been nominated and awarded theprestigious Grammy Award. In 2004, the album De mil Colores, by Spanish singer Rosario Flores, received the Grammy in the category Best album of the genre Pop vocal female.

In 2011 he was awarded a credit with Guaco and a LatinGrammy for his participation in the album Irrepetible by El Caballero de la Salsa, Puerto Rican Gilberto Santa Rosa, which won the Best Salsa album of the genre.

In 2013 he was nominated again as a member of Guaco in the category of Best Album of the Year and BestContemporary Tropical Album for the recordingEscultura.

Also in 2014 he participates in two important productions, the first DVD of Guaco titled Guaco Histórico, in which artists such as Kiara, Gilberto Sta. Rosa, Luis Enrique, Jorge Luis Chacín and Nelson Arrieta take part.

Between October and November 2016, he toured Japan with Guaco for 14 cities on his first visit to Japan. Duringthis tour, Guaco was awarded the Latin Grammy for BestLatin Contemporary Album in (Guaco Histórico II) and in 2017 he is nominated in two categories of this sameaward: Best Video Long (Semblanza) and BestContemporary Tropical Album (Bidimensional) where the Symphony Orchestra Simon Bolivar of Venezuela and the conductor Gustavo Dudamel participate , which they won again Best Contemporary Tropical Album.

He is artist of the prestigious marks Vater Drumstick, Soultone Cymbals, CTM Monitors , Latin Percussion and Remo.
