Tony Hunt Drummer Official

Tony Hunt is an independent drummer based in the Saint Louis area. Beginning at the age of four, Hunt began learning the basic concepts of drumming. Listening and replaying music from his parent's old 33’s and 45’s. Classic and folk rock were the first inspirations. Kiss, John Denver, Elvis Presley, Journey, James Taylor and Led Zeppelin. In grade school, Hunt joined the school concert band and became the first student in Grandview High School (Ware, Missouri) to play a full seven years in high school band. Throughout these seven years, Hunt eared over ten awards for solo and group ensemble work. These included the John Philip Sousa Award for music and the Music Department Award for Band. Hunt also placed in the top ten for high school jazz drummers in 2007, despite not actually having a jazz band in school.

After graduating sixth in his class, Hunt attended Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri. Here he joined the Pride Marching Band as a member of the battery, marching as an anchor on the cymbal line. With the added pressure of learning an entire new marching show with new music each week, Hunt also prepared with the band for their trip to the 2008 Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade in California. Premiering as the lead band to kickoff the parade, the battery was featured with the Up With People organization for the opening celebration, airing on internal television in over 60 countries. Outside of the school program,. Hunt helped form the group Superstar Runner alongside Ben Johnson. The group played several shows around Springfield and releases a six song EP titled “And This Will Be an Entrance”. In 2009, Hunt left the group to return home in order to continue college at the local level. In 2010, Hunt was featured on Superstar Runner’s album Olympic Champion.

In 2011, Tony was selected by Drum! Magazine for their “New Blood” section, showcasing his then-project, Kadem. With musical backgrounds in Blues, Jazz, Orchestral, Contemporary, Indie and other various labels, Tony’s skills are very unique in the sense of creativity within a certain genre; often mixing and matching to give every song exactly what it needs. Kadem released a self-titled six song demo but the band fell apart shortly after.

In 2012, Hunt joined the group Shotgun Abby, an indie-rock band based in Saint Louis, Missouri. The group played several shows and in 2014 released a five song EP. The group was featured in the RAW Artist Showcase and finished in the final round of the Saint Louis Hard Rock Cafe Battle of the Bands competition in 2014.

2016, was a busy year for Hunt. He completed his Masters’s Degree in Criminal Justice and married his beautiful wife Jennifer. At the wedding, which was held at the historic Lemp Mansion and Grand Hall in Saint Louis, Hunt reunited with former Kadem members Joe and Shawn to relive the memories of what could have been from Kadem, performing at the Grand Halll.

In 2018, Hunt joined the already established rock band Croft and as the band progressed, the band changed their name to the Croft Brothers Band and are currently playing out every month in Saint Louis, mixing each show with covers and original music. Check out the newest release, "MY Soul"!

When not on stage or in the studio, Hunt works for the State of Missouri and volunteers as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for foster children in Jefferson County, Missouri.
