Capitvate

An elder millennial born in Flin Flon 1988 into the frigid climate of this small town bordering Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

Heavily influence by his grandparents, both known for their musical abilities regarding the fiddle and the piano, exposure at an early age and impressionable time set the stage for a long musical journey.

Starting piano lessons at age 4, consistently chipping away at learning and memorizing the books, recitals, showcases, and various performances were common until age 12 when interest started to wane and the desire something new came about but not sure what. Throughout middle school various instruments were dabbled in: Flute, Piccolo, Clarinet, and Alto Saxophone, by the age of 14 none of them really stuck, fulfilled, or sparked any sense of passion.

In the early years of what could only be considered the dregs of high school. Unable to find a creative outlet, other forms of art were pursued but still nothing was filling the artistic glass. An opportunity arose around age 16 where a drummer was needed to complete a group but not having much experience with the instrument created hesitance. Being able to maintain a kick/snare alternating beat came easy and the spark was found.

Eventually relocating to Fort McMurray, Alberta in 2006 opened many new avenues for a young musician. Fresh ideas and new experiences changed perspectives and though processes spurring as much growth as possible in a self taught drummer. From 2006-2010 many bands and projects came and went until 2011 when a long standing group was looking for a new drummer and eventually Earth's Ashes was formed. While motivation and drive was still high, the groups decision to move to Red Deer, Alberta in 2012 to expand the audience and gain more traction and exposure. Earth's Ashes eventually dissolved in 2018 causing a stunted creative output.

Choosing to focus on technical improvement a decision to go to a drum camp in Quebec called "The Ultimate Drum Camp" where being taught by drumming legends ended becoming the most eye opening experience the need to shift from completely self taught to taking lessons became a need.

In 2019, once again a band was looking for a drummer which brought about the inception of "Captivate". Since the creation of "Captivate" the need for the ability to advertise was a paramount next step, which resulted with dabbling into video shooting and editing.
