Madly in love with music from an early age, Samantha Tralongo began piano lessons at 12, moved on to the guitar, but then discovered her true passion in percussion.
Sammy began drumming at 19 and after several years of building the basics had the special opportunity to study in Caracas with instructor Ricardo Chacin for 4 years.
In 2002 Sammy moved to Australia where she stayed for over 8 years. First in Sydney and then several more years in Melbourne, she joined Two Short, a 4 piece indie band. With them for 3 years, Sammy played on the group’s first EP, The Long Hard Look.
During that same period, Sammy managed to earn a degree in sound production and engineering from SAE Institute of Melbourne and acquired a Tesol certificate to teach English as a second language.
Returning to Venezuela in 2011, Samantha wasted no time in utilizing her talents and education. She founded Esprimolibera Studios in Caracas, a multifaceted company dedicated to the finest production values available in live or recorded music. She herself has created and/or recorded documentary soundtracks, TV segments, and commercial jingles.
Sammy has collaborated with musicians and bands throughout Venezuela, as a guest drummer, recording engineer, and mix master.
In addition to the business of music, Sammy kept on drumming in various bands through the years, always with a slant toward classic rock, funk, and punk. Since 2015 her primary efforts go into Morango, a cover band that is dedicated to a disco revival!
In 2020 Sammy joined the studio band for “Sabado Sensacional”, a music show aired on Venezuelan TV. Sammy is currently working as recording engineer and producer for artist Zarik Medina’s fourth record “Zarikland”.
She is also currently collaborating with Inigo Ayala on compositions for a concept band. Stay tuned!
Sammy currently resides in Caracas with her four beloved cats. She is now learning to play several other instruments and helping animal shelters in their efforts.
