Oh Mercy

Rohan Sforcina is a drummer from Melbourne Australia. Rohan grew up as primarily a Jazz musician, but after completing a Bachelor of Music Performance (Improvisation) at the Victorian College of the Arts, he has now turned his focus to more rock orientated music. Primarily that of Melbourne band Oh Mercy, who along with Rohan have recently relocated to Portland, Oregon.

Oh Mercy have recently released Deep Heat, the band’s third and most colourful album to date; a collection of 10 propulsive songs with a groove as deep as the Mariana Trench.

Last year, after a successful North American run of shows – 13,450 kilometres in a tour van – Oh Mercy moved into the Family Farm, a beautiful homestead-turned-studio on the banks of Lake Oswego, just outside of Portland. Between games of Mario Kart and episodes of Law & Order SVU, many cans of Pabst Blue Ribbon and exercise sessions in a makeshift gym, Deep Heat started taking shape. At the helm was producer and renaissance man Burke Reid.

Oh Mercy have toured Australia nationally countless times in support of their own records as well as in support of some of the biggest names in music such as Crowded House, Steely Dan, Father John Misty. They have also been on the bill for some of Australia's biggest festivals. As well as this the band has been awarded The Age EG award for outstanding achievement and twice been nominated for an ARIA.
