Rob Steele

Hailing from Swansea, South Wales (UK), Rob has been playing drums for 8 years.

A self-taught drummer, Rob has recently completed the ‘1 Year Higher Diploma in Popular Music Performance’ course at the world famous ‘Drumtech’ Drum school in Acton, West London. This experience has been invaluable and has opened many new doors for him. As well as learning many new styles such as jazz, funk, soul etc, as part of the course, Rob has developed Latin Percussion skills to add to his repertoire.

He has played in many different bands since first picking up drumsticks, mainly around the rock/punk/metal genre’s. Playing at ‘Party In The Park’, a South Wales festival to over 15,000 people by the age of 16, was an early highlight. One of the more successful bands Rob has played for (The Grand Parade) have headlined prestigious London venues such as ’The Dublin Castle’, ‘The Clapham Grand’ and ’The Hope and Anchor’ as well as receiving worldwide radio airplay having been featured on the compilation album ’Tour de Force 1’.

The dream is to make a living by playing drums and having recently set up a function band, a jazz trio, a full big band, playing some theatre shows and a few different sessions, he seems to be well on his way. He’s also done some teaching in the local Swansea area and is always on the lookout for new pupils.

Rob would like to thank Soultone Cymbals for their continued support.
