I began playing drums at the age of five with my dad’s band Estables Del Norte out of Muleshoe Texas. By age of seven I began to play drums with a Norteno band out of Olton Texas called Los Centenarios. While in junior high I was in jazz band and stage band. While in high school band I received the Phillips Sousa award.
In 2007, I graduated from Floydada High School. I attended South Plains College’s Commercial Music program. While in college I was in audition ensembles such as the Beatles Tribute Band, Thursday Night Live, and Juke Box.
While starting my music career I auditioned on drums for a funk band out of Lubbock Texas called Element Keeping the Funk Alive. While playing with Element for two years, I was able to learn a unique style that I had never played before. We performed for events such as 100 Blackman’s association, Boys and Girls Club, and Texas Tech Associations. We also performed for Private events, Jakes Grill and Bar, Texas Café, and Lubbock Country Club, Abilene Country Club, Crystal’s Night Club with Bobby Blue Bland. Other performances included TK Soul, La Diosa Winery, Red Zone Sports Bar, and The Office Sports Bar.
I received an opportunity to play drums at the Tejano Music National Convention in Las Vegas with Audi y Zentimiento. Which took place July 27,2012.
In June 2015 I started my own sit in musician business. Named after me RLE Musician. Since then I have been involved in some Awesome gig opportunities. Such as performing with Alma Quartet Jazz band from Lubbock Tx. I been booking gigs sitting in with Grupo Cyclon on Drums performing at events such as Quinceneras, Weddings, Private Bookings only. I had the opportunity to perform bass with a band named Still Satellite based out of Tucson AZ. They now live in Plainview Tx. I had the opportunity performing an Arts Exhibit in Lubbock Tx, and a Bar gig for new upcoming Artist in West Texas at the Obar in the Depot District. I also been a hired sit in musician for a Rock Band named Brittan Church Music. I had the opportunity performing with this band at their own CD release Party at Jakes Backroom Lubbock Tx and did an appearance on their Newest single S.O.B Music Video Shoot.
I Raymond Everett have been gigging non-stop since I have opened my sit in musician business. I play all styles of genres such as, Tejano, Conjunto, Norteno, Christian Music, Rock, R&B, Punk, Pop, Jazz, Country, Indie Rock, Texas Country. Any Style that makes music I love to do so. I’m also a hired Studio Musician planning on Recording and pursing my Dream of being a working musician.
I have now been a Sponsored musician by Anheuser-Busch going on 8 yrs. All these experiences have now led me to Co-writing and composing a song with my Cousin Jackie De La Garza, which has now been recorded by the one and only Little Miss Dynamite Shelly Lares. The song is called “Mi Moreno”. My dad and I also released an EP called Mis Raices featuring him on the accordion on a Polka called “The Everett Special”, we also re-recorded a song my dad released in 1984 “Rosita” on our EP featuring a great friend of mine Jacob Garcia on accordion. I was blessed to be written about in the Plainview, Tx Herald Newspaper on Feb 21, 2016 about by my sponsorship and music career by Homer Marquez.
I now work Fulltime as THE LIGHT DUO, and Dan Patterson Drummer. The Light Duo is more of a Grunge Rock/Pop influenced band sound, with an amazing light show. Dan Patterson band is more of an Americana/Country band sound with a killer storytelling side of his music. The Light duo ended our band on Aug 4th with a show to remember at the New Deal Jamaica.
I work for Texwestus from time to time. As of Sept 10th, I have been involved with Texwestus. We have been performing in the DFW area, and Houston Tx. July 21st, 2018 was my first show with Jason Nutt & Highway 70. It’s been over a year now and have had the opportunity to be apart of the band and the many Blessings that have come our way. Jason wrote a song called “Purple Banners” and soon we recorded the song and a professional Music Video Sponsored by Weaver Livestock. The Music Video went Viral and was up to 189k view within the first week of the release.
