NICK HAYES BORN 1980 IN GREENSBORO N,C has been performing, touring, and recording with various bands since he was 15 years old, performing many different styles of music . He started on the drum kit and played with local and national gospel groups and artists including George pass,Christopher brinson,Ron bigelow,kim burrell,shirley ceaser,bennett college womans choir,Monique walker,Marvin sapp,George perkins jr,Anthony foster,MIke yeverton ,Greg drumwright and so many more . Nick has toured all over the states with the nationally renowned ''SONS OF STEEL STEEL DRUM BAND “ performed World renowned drum master TRACY THORNTON. He was the founder, leader, musical director, manager and lead tenor . He was also the founder of the nation’s most exciting steeldrum band “Sons of Steel” ,

NICK'S major influences and mentors are Calvin''coon'' napper ,Rischard jenkins,Virgil brooks,Tracy thornton,George pass,Steve kelly.Larry kendall,Marvin wright, Bryant parker,Kevin cummings,Howard mcnair,Anthony foster, Brian moody,Ron thornton,Nate kelly,Brian brown,Kevin graves ,Corey williams and Greg drumwright.

NICK currently serves as the drummer for st james presbytarian church in greensboro n,c

under the leadership of pastor Diane givens moffett.

NICKis an exceptional musician, teacher and performer. He does read music and teaches by ear and by rote. “Drill and Kill to skill” style of training. With his infectious and highly energetic personality and never ending enthusiasm towards music, he has built a strong name for himself in the world-wide steelpan community and seems to reach kids and people of all ages easily to teach them the magical world of music.
