Marko “P-nut” Ford

A native of Savannah, Georgia, Marko “P-Nut” Ford started his career by sneaking onto the drums at the Victory Drive Deliverance Center Church located in Savannah, Georgia. Many times he was caught and told to stop, but the drive within him wouldn’t allow him to do so. At the age of 9 he joined his family’s church, Lewis Pentecostal Temple, in Levy South Carolina. There, he learned how to play by diligently watching his older cousin.

This self-taught drummer has played for gospel’s elite including Douglas Miller, Melvin Dawson, and Timothy Wright just to name a few. Marko has also played for George Clinton, Jr. & the P-Funk Family. As one of the most sought after drummers in Savannah, Georgia, he’s had the opportunity to play for several local artist and churches including: 1st African Baptist Church, New Generation Full Gospel Church, Temple of Glory Community Church, Bryan Rouche & Integrity, Eric Brack & J.E.B. Mass Choir, and Lonnie Coppock & the Prefect Praise Chorale. Marko served as master drummer on Lonnie Coppock’s live recording “Just Being Me” in 2002.

Marko grew up listening to Gospel and Rhythm & Blues but his love for music includes all genres. This is evident because all treads can be heard in his playing. In his quest to become a greater drummer, Marko has traveled to many places such as Orlando, Florida to play for Donnie McClurkin’s New Artist Showcase; Miami and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida to the Youth Christian Council’s Convention along with the Perfect Praise Chorale; North Carolina along with Shiloh Seventh Day Adventist Choir; Atlanta, Georgia with George Clinton, Jr. & The P-Funk Family; and on two overseas USO tours with Inobe.

Aspiring to enhance his talent and further his music career, Marko relocated to Atlanta, Georgia in 2005. While in Atlanta, Marko has played for several local artists including: Rastafunk, Inobe, Tammie Allen, Unity Band of Atlanta, Yen & Asian Soul, Momentum Band, and The Old School Rhythm Rule (OSRR) Band.
