Jonathan Chiriboga, better known as Jonas, was born in Ibarra-Ecuador on July 7, 1983. He embraced music at an early age, influenced by his father, John Chiriboga. He recalls he began as a child hitting cookie cans, cardboard boxes or any object that made a percussive sound.
At school around age 13 Jonas played drums and was already part of some bands in his city. At age16 he was part of the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, as an ambassador of traditional and contemporary music in our country. Beginning his musical career this way gave him an opening in several countries like the United States, China, Japan, Singapore and Columbia.
Throughout Jonas’ career he has obtained several recognitions and awards in events such as festivals and anniversaries both inside and outside the city.
Currently Jonas belongs to the Family of drummers and percussionists endorsed by Soultone.
