Joey “JoJo” Durant was born in Richmond, CA. raised on the East Coast from age 2. Son of a former Naval Officer traveling though out the United States as a child landing finally in New Hampshire at the age of 12.Playing drums since the age of 9 years old. In marching band at school to jazz band and orchestra.
Playing in cover bands at the age of 13 up until the age of 16 years old , at the age of 17 Joey moved from his home town in Keene, NH to Boston to audition at Berklee College of Music where he played in a band there called Truth his first introduction to original Southern Rock music in the likes of LynyrdSkynyrd . Joey got accepted at Berklee and Massachusetts College of Fine Art. In the scheme of playing music at the age of 19 Joey was signed to Var International a sub label of MCA and run by producer Jimmy Miller (Motorhead, The Rolling Stones) in which an album was recorded at Downtown Recorders and Newbury Sound. His stint at school lasted less then a semester . Three years later Joey found himself on the streets of Hollywood ,Ca where he was to audition with Alice Cooper but the transaction never occurred , left with a $150 in his pocket he managed to survive living on the streets homeless several times living in cars and staying on peoples couches hejoined a band with two guys and starting which would end up being one of the craziest street glam bands in the history of Hollywood, Trash Cowboys.
Joey’s style of drumming is a mix of old school Zeppelin with a touch of Mike Portnoy, Keith Moon and Hunt Sales.

After playing in many bands over the course of the next decade and finally meeting Dusty Lang and Anthony Appello they formed the band Six Gun Sal and for the last 6 years have played every major club and venue in Los Angeles toured the West Coast and recorded 3 albums worth of music.Sold out The Whisky in Hollywood as a first time headliner. The band has turned down several labels in the hopes of finding the right label group to manage them. Since the pandemic the band have been recording privately and now are beginning to do live shows again. Playing at the Oxnard Performing Arts Center and its upcoming show on May 29th at The Scottish Rite Event Center in Long Beach. A show on October 3rd is set for The Anthem In Washington DC where the band plans on touring throughout the summer and winter into next year.
