Jenier Valencia was born into a very musical family. Jenier always showed a love for music at an early age, His father (Francisco Valencia SR.) was a working musician, he always carried Jenier around on his gigs and shows, Jenier began playing percussion at the age of 3 due to being around his father’s band at an early age. Jenier grew up playing percussion but it wasn’t until the age of 9 that Jenier developed the love for the drums. Jenier began playing drums in his gospel church “Rock of salvation”. Jenier played in the musical ministry in which his sister sang and father directed. Apart from having blazing licks and amazing chops Jenier showed something that a lot of young drummers didn’t have; pocket and musicality. Because of Jenier’s great ability to be musical and have a strong pocket he later moved on to play with a band named “submerged”. With this band jenier traveled and played at many different venues and many different churches around the U.S.A. After Jenier moved on from playing with “Submerged” he went on to play with an R&B gospel band named “Nu image” where Jenier continuously showed dedication to his craft and leadership. Jenier often performs with his gospel band and different local gospel artist. Apart from being a phenomenal drummer, Jenier also is a local percussion teacher, he teaches the youth of many local gospel churches drums/percussion, Jenier feels that God gave him the gift to play drums so he’s returning it by giving back to the community. Jenier is currently and independent drummer and local drummer for “Rock of salvation” gospel church. He’s currently attending College for music performance and seeking a degree in drumset/percussion.
