Freddie Edwards Jr.

A native of Columbus, Mississippi, Freddie Edwards Jr. considers himself a “Down South Church boy.” He grew up learning the importance of having a relationship with God under the guidance of his father Bishop Freddie Edwards Sr. By the age of four, Edwards discovered his talents by simply sitting at the drum set and letting the Lord use him.

He went on to further his music career at both local and national levels with various artists such as The Edwards Family, Lee Williams, George Dean, Evelyn Turrentine Agee, the Mississippi Mass Choir, the Golden Wings Quartet, and finally as one of the founding members of Redemption of Columbus. While Edwards still plays with ROC, he also plays with Shiloh Full Gospel Missionary Baptist Church. He attributes his style from the influences of Chris Coleman, Dave Weckl and Buddy Rich.

Freddie Edwards shares his success and blessings with his family. He has been married 10 years to Sharesa Carter Edwards, and they are parents to a 5-year-old girl and are expecting a new addition soon. Edwards proudly endorses Soultone Cymbals.
