Frank Blanton

Frank is the recipient of several musical honors including:

The John Phillip Sousa Award, The McDonald's All American Band Award,

The American Musical Foundation Award and The United States National Band Award. He was also chosen to tour with the American Ambassador Musical European Band. He studied music education at both Norfolk State and Florida A&M Universities. While attending these Historically Black Colleges & Universities, Frank was in the drum line of the Marching Spartan Legion and the world-renowned Marching 100 Band. In addition to his accolades, he was selected to participate in a vocational group study exchange in Australia.

At the age of 5, Frank showed an interest in drums and has continued his success as a drummer professionally by conducting private music lessons, and also performing with musical acts such as: Juiceology, Cashmere, Werk-N-Prahgrez, The HLE Band, The Chuck Lambert Band,

Andre Hoxter, Sophisticated Soul, Urban Groove, Funktion 11, Queen Bleu Nile, and, currently performs with The Funktion and Basic Elements.

Frank has also performed and/or shared the same stage with National recording artists such as: Raymond Earle (founder of Instant Funk), Miles Jaye, Howard Hewett, Glenn Jones, Tony Terry, and Keith Washington.
