Diego Jimenez

Diego Jimenez, born in San Diego, California started playing music since he was 4 years old. He would hit pots and pans and would still keep a very steady rhythm. Sometimes while at school, he would get in trouble for rhythmically hitting his desk. He would later go take music lessons at Casa de la Cultura, which is located in Las Playas, Tijuana where he would sometimes perform. During that period of time, he learned to control stage freight. After a few more years, he decided to find better music teachers and began to take drum lessons with one of the best drummers in Tijuana, Carlos Maria. He took lessons there for about four years. He learned to read music by note and managed to get a better technique over time. During these four years, he started playing with blues band, Jl Blues Project, and would play a few shows and would still improve his performance on the drums. After a few years, the COVID-19 pandemic struck the nation and people were on quarantine, which meant no more shows or concerts. He anyway wanted to display his talent to the world but because of the quarantine, he really couldn’t unless it was on the internet. That’s when he began to and currently does drum covers and uploads them to YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook. He’s been playing music for 10 years and he is willing to pursue his biggest dream as a musician.
