From the church pews of Richmond, Virginia to stages across the United States and Japan, Antonio “Σir Duke” Peters has spent a lifetime developing a voice behind the drums that is unmistakably his own. Playing since the age of two and now based in Northern Virginia, his musical journey has been rooted in one unwavering belief: “There’s nothing like a tight pocket with a funky groove.”

Inspired by legendary drummers Art Blakey, Chris Dave, Dave Weckl, William Julius “Ju Ju” House, and Carter Beauford, Antonio has cultivated a style that blends precision, power, feel, and musical conversation. His approach extends beyond keeping time—it’s about creating a rhythmic foundation that elevates every musician on stage while bringing energy, emotion, and authenticity to every performance.

His goal has always been simple: to develop a voice on the drums that’s recognizable before you even walk into the room. Whether driving a hard-hitting funk groove, supporting a soulful ballad, or navigating the dynamic textures of a big band, his playing reflects a commitment to serving the music first while leaving a signature impression on every audience.

Throughout his career, Antonio “Σir Duke” Peters has performed from coast to coast in the United States and internationally in Japan, earning a reputation for his high-energy performances, deep pocket, and unmistakable groove. He currently performs with The Bridge Band RVA, The Dap Mallory Band, Elonce Band, and Grammy Award-nominated recording artist Chan Hall performing on stages and venues around the city and region.
