I chose my specialization because of my interest in the history of human culture. At the time of my education at the College of Arts, I was really fascinated with drums, and I felt a strong passion for playing this particular instrument. Later on, maybe as a result of my self-education as well, I managed to explain to myself what really fascinated me in my profession. Every period of human history is characterized not only by its achievements, but also by its rhythm. What really fascinates me as an artist, is the rhythmic structure of musical pieces in their most staggering and exciting forms. In my opinion, the most interesting styles and types of the XXth century music culture are jazz, funk, fusion, and latina. The chief direction of the development of contemporary music coincides with the progressive and experimental development of these music styles. I have been playing the drums since 1994, but I started my professional education in Saratov, receiving vocational training in Saratov Regional College of Arts (2002-2005). My major at the jazz music department (drums class) of the College was “Social and cultural activity and folk arts”.Since 2005 I have been playing drums in different bands and groups, both professional and semi-professional, because I realize that no formal instruction can equal live performing practice. I have been playing music of various styles, and that has helped me immensely to grow professionally. My services as a drummer are in demand in my State, and I think this is because of my ability to accept the “rules of the game” that my partners want me to comply with, and also my ability to be absorbed in the music I am playing with a certain band.
