Casey Shroyer
Born and raised in Ohio, Casey Shroyer's passion for music began almost as soon as
he could walk. He started playing drums at just three years old and was performing in
church by age five. What began as a childhood calling quickly grew into a lifelong
passion that would shape his future.
Throughout his early years, Casey became an active part of Ohio's metal scene,
performing with several bands and eventually helping build Infidel into a respected local
act. From 2008 through 2013, the band performed throughout Central Ohio, sharing
stages at iconic venues and establishing a strong following.
Behind the music, however, Casey faced years of personal struggles and addiction.
What began as a difficult battle eventually cost him his career, stability, and direction in
life. Even during his time away from music, the desire to return to the stage never
disappeared.
In August 2023, Casey survived a devastating motorcycle accident that claimed the life
of his wife and left him fighting for his own. He suffered extensive traumatic injuries,
endured multiple surgeries, spent time on life support, and was placed in a medically
induced coma. Doctors fought to save his life as his family prayed for a miracle.
That miracle came. During his recovery, Casey had to relearn many of life's basic
functions, including speaking, eating, standing, and walking. Yet through every
challenge, his faith remained strong. One of the first things he did after waking up was
tap drum patterns with his fingers, a sign that the passion God placed in him had never
left.
Today, Casey proudly lives a sober life and considers every day a gift. In 2024, he
joined Broken Habits, a band whose message of recovery, perseverance, and hope
closely reflects his own journey. What began as an unexpected opportunity became the
next chapter of his life and music career.
Now performing live, recording in the studio, filming music videos, and inspiring others
through music, Casey uses his platform to encourage anyone facing addiction, loss, or
hardship. His story is proof that faith, determination, and God's grace can overcome
even the darkest circumstances. Casey Shroyer is more than a drummer. He is a living
testament to resilience, recovery, and second chances.
