Jr. (Robbie Krieger), Guitarist/Producer Joerg Stoeffel, and
professional dance band XUXJ.
Devin’s studio credits include French singer/songwriter Patje,
songwriter Guy Verdi, Indie Punk Metal Band “Dear Damien”,
and Jam Band “Family Rock”. While being an in demand player
Devin also teaches privately and has taught for Sound Art
(L.A.) and Day Jams (Orange County).
Devin Lebsack was born in Greeley, Colorado. Throughout his
formative years he took an interest in music by singing in
musical productions. During this time he also started to become
involved with percussion and drum set studies. After
moving to Las Vegas in 1992 he began studies with drummer
Nick Stamanis and began building his chops, grooves, and reading
skills.
Upon
entering high school he became the caption head of the drum
line. His leadership took this ensemble to the Nevada Percussive
Arts Society State Championships two years in a row and took
first place honors. At the same time Devin performed with
the UNLV competition drum line under the direction of Brian
Mason, and in 1996 won the WGI International College Division
title.
While excelling in marching percussion Devin did his homework
in orchestral and drum set performance by becoming the principle
drummer and percussionist for the Nevada All Star Jazz Band
and Orchestras.
After being accepted to Berklee College of Music and awarded
the “Achievement Scholarship” Devin became interested in studio
drummers Jeff Porcaro, Steve Gadd and Bernard Purdie. While
studying these players and being mentored by Zoro (Lenny Kravitz,
Bobby Brown) Devin opened himself to the concept of groove
and playing for the song. This lasting impression has defined
Devin as a player to this day. In his sophomore year, Devin
accepted a gig from Pro–Ship International that took him to
Israel, Turkey, Greece, Cypress, and Crete. This opportunity
gave him a chance to utilize all of his talents and experience,
performing a variety of Las Vegas and Broadway style shows.
Returning to Boston, Devin finished Berklee and received his
Bachelors Degree in “Professional Music”.
With his diploma he headed off to Los Angeles where he is
actively pursuing his dream, playing, recording and teaching
music.
