Bobby Boyd

 

    Now 47, Bobby Boyd began playing drums at the age of 5. He makes his home in central New Jersey working as a freelance drummer, doing studio work and teaching. He can regularly been seen with his own jazz trio or with Tim McLoone and the Shirleys. Bobby is also a member of “Holiday Express”, a group of musicians and volunteers that bring shows to those in need. With Holiday Express, Bobby has backed such artists as Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi, Rob Thomas, The Bare Naked Ladies, and many more. Television and radio credits include: The Today Show, The Tree Lighting at Rockefeller Center, Ali and Jack, All My Children, WPLJ with Scott and Todd, NJ101.5 and Comcast specials.

Bobby teaches drums at Monmouth University and has taught many private students over the years.       He also has written for Modern Drummer and Classic Drummer magazines.
