BIO
Darryl showed an interest in music at a very young age, beginning
his
drumming career by banging on his moms pots & pans with
wooden spoons.
Darryl was self taught on drum set from the time he received
his
first drum set as a child until he began taking private jazz
drum set
lessons in junior high. Along the way he also learned to play
the
guitar and trumpet and played in rock bands with friends.
He also
dabbled with songwriting and recording, a hobby he enjoys
to this day.
Darryl furthered his formal training by studying classical
percussion, jazz and drum set at the University of Oregon
and the
University of Maine from which he received his Bachelor of
Music in
Performance degree. Darryl now resides in Los Angeles, CA
where he
is enjoying the sunshine and playing with his band.
Although Darryl can play many styles well and plays a wide
range of
percussion instruments, his main focus is as a rock drummer.
Darryl is influenced strongly by the stylings and spontaneity
of
Keith Moon, the finesse of Dave Grohl and the thunder of John
Bonham.
Darryl loves creativity in music and that is reflected strongly
in
his playing.

“Soultone cymbals are by far the greatest cymbals I’ve ever
heard!
The other guys just simply aren’t making them like this anymore.”
