For Tony Baptist, its all about power and
energy. Playing in that class of drummers where his teachers
where the likes of Tommy Lee, Shannon Larkin, Dave Grohl, and
Max Weinberg, Tony has gained attention from fans and friends
alike due to his high-energy visual style that people cannot
take their eyes off of. Tony was born near the boardwalks of
the Jersey shore as the son of a drummer who gave him his
first Mickey Mouse drum set before he could walk. Then after
years of playing hockey, the turning point came in the
basement of rock legend Max Weinberg’s home when Tony played
on one of Max’s sets with friends who were impressed with his
natural ability. From then on there was nothing else. Tony
has played in award nominated bands, and has recorded tracks
that have appeared in a film seen at the Tribeca Film
Festival.
Tony has
recently joined popular NYC rock band Atom Strange and is in
the beginning process of writing and recording the bands 2nd
record and planning tour dates around the east coast.
Tony is
extremely proud to be apart of the Soultone Family. “I feel
in love with how big and amazing the cymbals sounded the first
time I hit them with the stick, it’s the sound I was looking
for years to find but never did until I joined Soultone.”
