Wayne King

Hot Mess

Wayne King started annoying his parents with the beautiful sounds of percussion before he could walk and never looked back. King’s first kit came at five years old, and he started his first band at twelve & through years of hard work and dedication, his first major project, Sutter Cane, developed a loyal Midwest following, King parted ways with Sutter Cane & kept himself busy with studio & live work ranging in genre from tejano to swing, from blues to metal, all the while continuing to pursue his dream project. In the summer of 2010, his vision became a reality with the formation of Burning Tide, a rowdy group of good ol’ boys (and girl) with a straight-up southern party rock vibe. Burning Tide’s debut single, Perfect Devil, stayed on the Slam Radio charts for nearly 15 weeks & won a Midwest Music Award for Song of The Year, their highly anticipated debut album, Rebel Soul, was released in the winter of 2013 and snagged a Midwest Music Awards nomination for Album of The Year & the band won Party Band Of The Year from The Midwest Music Awards in 2012,2013,2014, & 2015, which was the year that the band released the follow up album Here Comes Trouble. King’s work ethic and dedication to being an unforgettable entertainer, was rewarded with Drummer of the Year nominations at the 2011, 2012, 2013, & 2015 Midwest Rock Awards, finally bringing home the award in 2015. King now plays with lifelong hometown friends in one of the Midwest’s hottest top 40 acts Hot Mess. The brutally heavy hands that earned him the nickname “Animal” continue to skyrocket the showman to new personal and career heights, and he is loving every minute of it.
