Nichali Ffrench

Nichali Ffrench is a 20 year old musician/drummer who grew up in St. Catherine, Jamaica. “I grew up in a musically family, where my father was a drummer, my mother a singer, and my cousins played other instruments. I first got interested in the drums at the age of 5; I played in my church and other local churches in Jamaica. At the age of 12 I played my first gig for a local artist named Jabez. Then my musical career really started; I played at small event and also at the National Stadium for Prodigal Son and other gospel choirs. At the age of 18 I then moved to Connecticut, and a few weeks later was introduced to the Living Word Ministries. There I met and started playing with some great musicians, such as Jonathan Dubose Jr., Ace Livingston, Dexter Pettaway and Pastor Marcus Ford. I’ve been there playing and also helping with the leading of the Teen Music Ministry. During my second year in the U.S I met various musicians and played with small groups, different schools and also played in the northeastern area. Now I am in a gospel band called The Bend Ministries. We are young Christians who are sharing our talent that God has blessed us with. My styles of music consist of R&B, Jazz & Blues, Gospel, Pop, Reggae and Soul. People consider me as a humble musician who just wants to worship God with my talent. I really got into drumming when I came to America, because of the opportunities that are here. My main influences in drumming are Dexter Pettaway, Calvin Rodgers, Ron Allen, Nick Smith, Calvin Napper, Chris Coleman and Aaron Spears. All of these musicians have made me what I am today and that’s why I am a proud musician. And I am also proud to be a Soultone artist
