Matthew Circle

Take The Day

Breaking out of the Kansas/Missouri local music scene, Matthew Circle established himself as a drummer at an early age and has traveled to locations such as Kansas City, Branson, MO and Orlando, FL. Matthew also played for Pittsburg State University’s “Pride of the Plains” marching band in 2010. He has been playing various styles from punk, jazz, country, rock, and metal, and has been performing professionally for over 10 years. Matthew has toured with local rock/metal bands such as Mudpuddle Dive, SECT, and Killer Strangelet. Matthew has been known as a heavy-hitting drummer and was given the nickname “Thunder God”. Matthew has studied under Bob Laushman at Pittsburg State University, and has had extensive studio, and live performance experience. Matthew currently performs with local Pittsburg, KS rock powerhouse Take The Day (www.takethedayband.com), and recorded under engineer/producer Ed Rose at Black Lodge Studios. Take The Day’s first EP went straight to number one on the Reverb Nation Rock Charts in the fall of 2011. Some of Matthew’s influences are Neil Peart, Bill Bruford, Danny Carey, Tommy Stewart, Morgan Rose, Thomas Haake, Chris Adler, and Mike Portnoy just to name a few. Matthew uses Sonor Drums, Tama Iron Cobra drum pedals, Pearl Icon drum rack systems, Evans Drumheads, Sound Percussion Drumsticks, Roland and Yamaha electronic drum pads and is now proud to announce to be a member of the Soultone family and looks forward to a long history with them.
