I could be playing in a cover band at one of the best venues, opening for a national act, playing a large festival, or touring the north east with an independent recording artist… an Alvarez guitar/Corona endorsed, Jared McCloud, or be any place where there is a stage. I started playing the drums at the age of 8. I took lessons in elementary school, then marching band in middle school. I played all through high school with various bands/musicians. I grew up in a very musical family. My brother Brian was always playing music, either a guitar, piano or keyboard. He introduced me to my first serious teacher Chris Lyons (George baker experience, Langley bros), and the drums took on a whole new meaning for me. Not only an excellent teacher, but player as well, Chris told me about practice habits, independence, versatility, influences, and most importantly dedication and love for the drums. I studied the Gary Chester method and funk studies for many years. Some of my greatest influences range from 80’s rock, to prog metal, to jazz, to pop. I draw inspirations from some of my favorites: Steve Smith (Journey, Vital information), Sting , and all his drummers, Morgan Rose (sevendust), John Bonham, Stewart Copeland, Gavin Harrison (porcupine tree), Keith Carlock (steely dan, various ) and Vinnie Colaiuta. In 2009 I started playing/touring with the Jared McCloud band, playing numerous shows and festivals throughout the whole northeast, while getting great reviews and write ups, even being nominated for the Hartford Advocates’ reader’s poll for top drummer. While 2010-2011 was a success, the New Year had the makings of even more promise. I just got my first endorsement (Soultone cymbals), recorded a new album, and had many shows/festivals scheduled for early 2012. The end of 2012 brought me a few new endorsements, which I was and still am very excited about. Silverfoxx percussion, and 247 drums were added to my list of endorsement companies. Thank you to all the companies that work with me! I am now working on a new project Civil Drone that I am very excited about. I am working with singer, and Ct. X factor semifinalist Gino Burgio, (ex Novus Dae), whom I have collaborated with for over 7 years. The sky is the limit for this band. I hope to see you at one of our shows soon. www.civildrone.net. Look for a new record from Civil Drone at some point in the spring of this year. 2013 is already off to a great start. I have just finished recording a new record with my rock/metal band In the Red, and it is slated for a Feb. 2013 release. http://www.intheredmusic.com/. Over the next few months, we will be opening up for several national acts, including: Novus Dae, Fly Leaf, Drowning pool, and many more.
