Kuo, Yu-Hsi

Born in 1982, Kaohsiung City, Taiwan. I have had a great interest in indie-music when I was a collage student. That was why I began to play drums since I was nineteen years old. In college period, I enjoyed the way of freedom, I
beloved the inspiration that indie-band players gave to me. For that reason, I started a band with my friends and our main genre was ballad. We had participated in lots of events from schools to schools. In addition, we started to
play our shows in small clubs and restaurants. Since I had more practical experiences, I knew more about “ Drumming” At the same time, the famous drum teacher, Li Kuo Hua influenced me a lots; therefore, I become involved in multiple
music styles and throw myself eagerly into drumming. In 2005, I had been learning rock, funk, latin, jazz and the other styles from teacher Hong Jia Wei for couple years. Two years later, 2007, I have been teaching students and
playing drums as profession. In that year, I also joined the Bluedodo band as a member. In 2010, Bluedodo was a warm-up band for the famous movie “Monga” in Kaohsiung premiere. One year after, 2011, I was in Black & White Band, and we
had our own shows in live house as a permanent band. In this year, I also teamed with TNNUA Band, we won the second place of the“Houli Instrument Carnival: Jazz Rookie Contest.” I had attend lots of events in the year as well, I
participated in Taichung Instrument Carnival represented a Jazz Rookie Band and also I played charity events in Rare Disorders Concert as a drummer in 2011 and 2015. In 2012, I founded my own “Drumming Studio"for teaching students. In
addition, I was drum club instructor in senior high schools. In the same year, I won the first place of “Cin Ding Ta Di Shan” musical concertand also continued dedicating in charity concerts with Heng-Shan Institution in 2012 and
2013. In 2014, I participated in World Vision Taiwan - The 25th 30 Hour Famine as UnderStand Boys drummer. Moreover, I was the Golden Melody Awards Winner: Sasha Li’s band drummer in Pingtong Ligang New Year Countdown Party. In 2015,
I was the Small Jazz Combo drummer for Sunday Jazz Night in Madker Café & Bar.
