Karl Killer

Karl Killer

Karl Killer, better known as just "Killer," has been drumming since the early age of 5, and though he is only 19, he is a very diverse and devoted player. Karl’s playing style is based off of drumming legends such as: Carter Beauford, Gavin Harrison, John Bonham, David Garibaldi, Bernard Purdie, and many others.

Karl started drum lessons at the early age of 7, and he picked up the basics very quickly. From elementary school through high school, he has gradually expanded outwards from the drum set to playing such instruments as the vibes, snare drum, and timpani. During his time at Amity High School, he spent 4 years in the orchestra, 1 year in jazz band, and was the drum line section leader in the marching band for 2 years. He even went on to teach the drum line for 1 year after graduating. At the age of 13, Karl started lessons with the renowned drummer, Greg Trabandt; during this time, he decided that drumming was his life passion. As a result, he has taken every opportunity to be on-stage performing. He has been in multiple bands through high school, and has also performed in the pit orchestra for his high school’s productions of Grease, Rent, and Godspell.

Karl eventually started to work for his teacher, Greg, at RVP Studios in West Haven, CT. The job included maintaining the studio’s rehearsal rooms and teching for Greg at his various gigs and clinics. After several years of dedication and hard work, Killer has moved his way up to becoming an assistant drum teacher at RVP Studios (www.rvpstudios.com/karl_killer )

When Karl isn’t teaching drums, he is on the road with his current pop-punk hardcore band, Casting Call. “CC” has stormed the underground scene and has been very successful thus far. They currently have a 6-song EP album called “Values” (available on iTunes), and are in the process of recording another. They have played many shows across New England and the Tri-State Region with bands such as With The Punches, Fireworks, I Call Fives, Four Year Strong, and Silverstein. They have toured up and down the East Coast, West to Detroit, and now as far as San Antonio, TX. Casting Call has no plans on slowing down anytime soon.
