Jon Turner

I started playing drums at the age of 3 using my mother's pots, pans & wooden utensils. Whether it was my natural talent or the fact that I ruined all moms’ cooking tools, we can't be sure, but my folks purchased my first drum set at age 4. At the age of 10 I received my first real 1970’s Orange Ludwig kit that my parents bought from my church. I made use of that beloved set practicing daily in my garage. The love of drums has been life-long, but I’ll never forget at the young age of 15 playing for my church choir on a weekly basis and going on summer tours across the U.S. I loved drumming so much, that by the time I’d reached High School, I quit playing football so I could focus on my chops. That life changing choice has been something I will never regret. The dedication to practice and excellence meant saying "no" to things other teenage kids were doing, but I knew what made me feel alive and I’ve not looked back since!

I have over 14 years of experience as a performing musician. My style, although versatile, is mostly a Rock and R&B blend. Although many have influenced my playing, major contributors are: Carter Beauford, Aaron Spears, Stewart Copeland, Teddy Campbell, Lester Estelle Jr., Steve Jordan and old school guys like Buddy Rich, Steve Gadd & David Weckl.

I’ve played with numerous bands & artists throughout the years and done a lot of studio work recently. My most successful band, Anna Dilemma, produced 1 full CD, an EP and was nominated 2 years in a row for Best Christian Band by Tulsa area “Spot Magazine”. Anna Dilemma had a radio hit song, called “Exit” debuting at #1 for FIVE weeks in a row on 103.3 The Xross.

I currently am the drummer for Lifechurch.tv South Tulsa campus and play with band S.T.O., CroweBand & individual artist, Kitt Bender.

I can’t tell you enough how wonderful my Soultone cymbals have been! I love their warm tones, and the compliments I get from the sound engineers, other musicians and fans are incredible! Soultone cymbals sit in the mix and aren’t overbearing or harsh. The sound I get from each cymbal is exactly what I have been searching for in all the other top brand cymbals, but just never seemed to reach my expectations. From the moment I heard Soultones live, I was sold! I am grateful to be a part of the Soultone family. I love this product & promote my cymbals every chance I get!
