From the birthplace of Jazz and the City of Music Traditions, John jDub Walker is a pioneer musician in the city of New Orleans. For the past 10 years he’s been an active member of the World Renowned, New Orleans Gospel Soul Children Inc., which has been in existence since 1969. Since the year of 2016-Current, he has served as the Music Director for the New Orleans Gospel Soul Children Inc. He also served as the Music director for International Recording Artist Professor Craig Adams and the Sounds of New Orleans. Mr. Walker is a graduate of John Ehret High School, where he served as a 3 year superior rating Drum Major, while still receiving a list of accolades for his musicianship and leadership from John Ehret High as well as LMEA District VI solo/ensemble, and Tri-M Music Honor Society. He has attended Delgado Community College and currently attends Southern New Hampshire University where he majors in Business Administration. Mr. Walker currently serves as the Assistant Director of Bands for Alfred Bonnabel High School of Kenner, LA and Livingston Collegiate Academy of New Orleans, LA, which are two profound high schools in the Southeastern Region of the state of Louisiana.
Mr. Walker has performed with a list of artist and musicians such as: “Last Holiday’s” Tonia Scott and The Anointed Voices, Multi Stellar Award Winner Jason Nelson, BET Sunday’s Best Finalist Maurice Griffin, Kenji Igus, Derick Grant, Legendary Tap dancer Dianne Walker, Ryan Johnson, Multi Rhythm of Gospel Award Winning B Chase and Shabach, Pastor Mitchell Stevens, First Emmanuel Baptist Church Choir, Mount Hermon Baptist Church, Xavier University Gospel Choir, Jessica Harvey and the Difference, Rhythm of Gospel Award Winner Zack Landry and Phaze, just to name a few. He has also operated as the stage production manager for award shows such as Rhythm Of Gospel Awards since 2014, which is the 3rd largest independent gospel award show in the nation.
Mr. Walker is known as “jDUb” for his own original style of drumming as well as his bright personality and his professionalism. It’s because of those attributes that he has been able to travel around the nation playing various types of music. jDub has performed at several festivals including New Orleans French Quarter Festival, New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Praise Fest on the Bayou, New Orleans Jazz City Tap Festival, Bayou Boogaloo Music Festival just to name a few. jDub is currently working tirelessly to maintain the solid and rich musical sounds of the New Orleans Gospel Soul Children Inc. as well as Professor Craig Adams and the Sounds of New Orleans while still cultivating and renovating the sound of his own.
