Greg Wright

Greg Wright grew up in Clinton, New York and started playing a Slingerland snare drum in the 3rd grade. On his 12th birthday he received an old school set of (now vintage, but long sold) Ludwigs. Any hope of a calm life in the suburbs with a 9 to 5 job went out the window from that point on (chuckle)! While in high school he was active in all music ensembles and went on to attend Berklee School of Music in Boston. After honing his chops, he immersed himself in the Boston music scene for over a decade, playing all styles of music and recording with a variety of original rock and blues bands. He now resides in Michigan and provides the pulse for The Squeaky Clean Cretins (eclectic indie original rock), the Swing Cats (jazz/latin), and others. The Cretins are busy performing on the summer festival circuit in support of their self-titled sophomore CD, released in July 2009.

Greg has gigged, toured, or recorded with The Squeaky Clean Cretins, Erik Koskinen (Minneapolis based musician/producer), Tom Hambridge’s TH and the Wreckage (Nashville based drummer/songwriter/producer), Erin Smith (indie folk), Fred Baker (Montana based musician & engineer/producer), and many others. His main musical styles are rock, blues, and jazz. Greg is a soulful player who strives to create a musical vibe on the drum kit through careful attention to phrasing and dynamics.
