Midnight River Choir/ Independent

Leaning anywhere from Rock, Metal, Alternative, Techno, Classic Country, my family listened to all types of music. My interest in drums started around 5 when I was gifted a children’s drum set. Then, My father bought me my first drum set at the age of 7. Since then, I knew that playing the drums was something I was going to do the rest of my life.

Middle school band consisted of playing saxophone although the love of drums was still there. Into high school, I joined marching band my sophomore year and went straight to the drum line. I went to state for both solo and ensemble, and exceeded in drum line, concert band and jazz band as well. It was there that I learned the most material from reading to performing in front of a crowd of people with a conductor.

After years of jamming our favorite songs with my brother in our room, and a short amount of lessons, we met our step father who had a band of his own. Around 13 years old he got us up on stage for the first time to play in front of a crowd. Since then, I have played many gigs at a variety of places all around Texas, from old country bars to dance halls. Continuing, my brother and I formed a band of our own naming ourselves Bexar Creek. Also playing around Texas, we got a taste of what its like to have a band, to write music and to record at home. After a few years of that, the band split up and my brother and I continued our musical journey when we joined a local band called the Reed Brothers. With this band we were able to get out and travel on the road out of state for the first time to play music. And before we split up, we had the opportunity to record an album with the band in Austin, Tx at White Room Studios entitled “Heartstrings”.

After leaving the Reed Brothers, I had the pleasure of joining a group of friends named Midnight River Choir. The band, based out of San Marcos, Tx, has a 10 year history in the Texas Music Scene. With a couple of albums under their belt and lots of traveling, they have established a great group of friends and fans in and out of Texas spanning from California to Illinois. Now playing on the road more than usual and being in and out of the studio, my love and taste for music has grown even more. And with Soultone cymbals, I have found my sound!
