Cornelius Jackson

My name is Cornelius Jackson I was born on December 23, 1996 in Moss Point, MS. I began playing drums at the age of 3, since first beginning to play drums I have maintained a very high level of passion for the drums. I became the head drummer at New Bethel Apostolic Assembly also located in Moss Point, MS. From that point on I began learning how to play by ear. At age 13 I started attending Magnolia Jr. High where I enrolled in the Jr. High band and began to learn basic fundamentals and techniques. After 2 years I then moved on to further my education in music in high school. While attending Moss Point High I developed my skills in multiple styles involving gospel, rock, pop, R&B soul, fusion and jazz, but if offered I would like to stick to my roots and continue playing gospel for many recording artists on the mainstream level. I also was the drummer for the Moss Point High Jazz Band. In 2015 I won outstanding drum solo at the Alcorn State University Jazz Festival in Lauren, MS. My senior year I was offered and accepted the role of drummer for local gospel artist Elijah Mchnair Johnson & Sounds of Grace. While playing for this group I have also played for numerous groups and solo artist such as, C. Ashley Brown Lawrence, Eulonda Ray and Rejoice, New Generation Band, Unfazed Band and Show, Bailey Hinton and James Magee which all of these artists are gospel artist. My future plans involve me attending Atlanta Institute of Music while also continuing to play for various artist.
