Deathgrip Rocklahoma 2017 review

DEATHGRIP delivers another blistering set of heavy metal on the DB Prossing/Retrospect Records stage again in 2017. Opening the show with "Lord of the Night" the band grabs the audience and immediately draws them to the front of the barricades. Then showing some of the band's influence they break into a powerful rendition of the classic Judas Priest song "Metal Gods" proving they too are a band to be reckoned with. Then into the 2017 DSN Music release "Demonizer" which has just been released as the group's first official video worldwide. Singer Matt Story brings the crowd to chanting the song title to a volume that can easily be heard over the intensity loud stage volume. Following up with crowd favorites "Ride" "Gray Skies" and the power pulsating "Death Hammer" they then move in for the final blow.
( *The band's newest song "Black Magic" that was scheduled to be debuted on this show had to be cut from the set list due to time restraints) With a Salute to the American military on the closing song "Masters of War" which includes drummer Scott Baughn's WWII Spitfire fighter plane inspired caged drum kit, complete with 50 caliber smoking wing guns. The bands Intensity draws the crowd into a large circle marsh pit. On command the rest of the audience shouts the song title "masters of war" In unison with singer Matt Story and special guest for that song, singer George Call from the band ASKA. This being the band's second appearance at the Rocklahoma music festival which draws thousands of people to Pryor Oklahoma every year from all over the globe. They prove once again they a band to watch closely.
