Wes Sanders

Wes Sanders

Wes Sanders was born in Tulsa, OK. I began playing drums around the age of 12 years old. My friend at the time was a drummer and his whole family was made up of musicians. His older brother played with Willie Nelson and Tim McGraw. I got a cheap drum-set and began playing to bands like KISS, Motley Crue, W.A.S.P. and other 80’s metal bands. After that I moved to Kansas City, MO.I still played with passion; It was almost natural to me. Then I move to the suburbs of Kansas. I got into my first band when I was 15. We played parties and some under 18 venues, and had one of our singles on the local radio station. After playing with severa; different bands, I joined a band called M.A.S. short for Mind altering substance. We did some shows and recording, had some radio play and were on a single on a comp disk. I started taking lessons from a local drum teacher named Rock Neil author of the “Double Bass Cookbook.” After being bored with Kansas I moved to CA to enroll in the Musicians Institute in Hollywood. That was the best decision of my career. I learned more reading, styles, techniques, and became an all around better musician. My drumming has brought me lots of fun; sharing stages with Kelle Rhoads/Randy Rhoad’s brother, Bleeding Through, In This Moment, Furn, Blackout, and always receiving calls to come play, it’s only getting better from here. I want to thank Soultone Cymbals for taking me in to the family; I love these cymbals. You can keep track of what’s going on with me at my websites. Happy drumming to all!
