Released by Total Experience Records, This was the second commercially world release song (the first was " Second Line" which he recorded back in 1971 in New Orleans, La. with his band 'Stop Incorporated', still this day the 1 Mardi Gras season hit song and New Orleans anthem) Jonathan recorded and it became a 1 hit and R&B classic! Born in New Orleans,Louisiana with a passion for music and graphic arts. First started playing at age 6 on his first snare drum(a Ludwig marching snare). Playing at school dances, parties and talent shows by age 8, night clubs by the age of 9, making his own money with his older brother's and their friend's band The Caveliers. "They would sneek me in the back doors because I was so underage {I don't know if they paid me right, but I sure had a lotta fun playing with the big guys - HOPE THEY DIDN'T RIP ME OFF!!!!!}".
At the age of 12 became known as " S U G A R F O O T " because of the fast, articulate and pronounced bass drum work he had developed! Playing 16th and even 32nd note figures dynamically within the rhythms. This name stuck all around town. "People didn't even know my REAL name." Played with several various popular local bands around town and in the region for 15 years to local celebrity status. A tape of the last local band I played with, the "Money Band", made it's way out of town in the hands of the lead singer of that band he had been with. "He let Jermaine Jackson of the Jacksons hear the tape and Jermaine sent for me through him. In the second week of January of 1979, I drove out to Los Angeles,California and Hollywood to meet with Jermaine. By the end of February(1 1/2 months later), I joined, THE JACKSONS".
